1. Who we are

Cointrackx (Cointrackx) is an independent online portal for cryptocurrency prices, news, and market insights. For the processing of personal data we act as the data controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What personal data do we process?

Depending on how you use Cointrackx, we may process the following categories of data:

• Newsletter: your email address when you subscribe to Cointrackx Daily (daily AI update by email).
• Newsletter analytics: technical data necessary to determine whether an email was opened and which links were clicked (see below).
• Website usage: aggregated statistics about page visits via our analytics service (without tracking cookies).
• Technical logs: information such as IP address and browser type may be processed by our hosting and security infrastructure to keep the service secure and available.

3. Purposes of processing

We process personal data only for clearly defined purposes:

• Sending the newsletter you have requested.
• Improving content and subject lines based on aggregated open and click statistics.
• Understanding general use of the website (without individual profiling through advertising cookies).
• Complying with legal obligations and protecting our service against misuse.

4. Newsletter and double opt-in

When you enter your email address for Cointrackx Daily, we first send a confirmation email. Your subscription becomes active only after you click the link in that message (double opt-in). This ensures that you genuinely wish to receive the newsletter.

We use your email address solely for this newsletter and communications related to your subscription, unless we ask for separate consent for other purposes.

5. Opens and clicks in the newsletter

To understand which topics and sections are relevant, we measure whether a newsletter is opened and which links are clicked. This is linked to your subscription so that we can compile statistics (e.g. open rates and popular links). We use these insights to improve our content, not to track you across the wider web outside the newsletter.

6. Website analytics (Simple Analytics)

On Cointrackx we use Simple Analytics. This service records, in a privacy-friendly manner, which pages are visited in general, without using tracking cookies and without selling personal data to advertising networks. The statistics help us improve the site.

7. Affiliate links (Finst, Bitvavo)

Cointrackx may contain affiliate links, including to partners such as Finst and Bitvavo. If you sign up for a service or register through such a link, the partner may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. Each partner has its own privacy policy; we do not control how they process personal data.

8. Retention periods

We retain data no longer than necessary for the purposes described above. Newsletter data are kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Technical logs may be retained for shorter periods for security and stability.

9. Your rights (GDPR)

You have the following rights, among others:

• Access to the personal data we process about you.
• Rectification of inaccurate data.
• Erasure or restriction of processing, where permitted by law.
• Objection to certain processing and, where applicable, data portability.

10. Unsubscribing from the newsletter

You may unsubscribe at any time. Each newsletter includes a link to unsubscribe with one click. After unsubscribing you will no longer receive newsletters unless you subscribe again through the double opt-in process.

11. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No online service can guarantee absolute security; we nevertheless follow generally accepted standards.

12. Changes

We may amend this privacy policy, for example when we add new features or when laws change. The current version is always published on this page. Where appropriate, we will notify you of material changes (for example via the website or the newsletter).
